Riverside Park Fund's mission is to preserve and improve New York's classic waterfront green space. Stretching over four miles along the Hudson River from 59th to 158th Streets, the 330 acres of Riverside Park provide recreation and relaxation for a uniquely diverse population. From seasonal attendants to rehabilitated playing fields, from horticultural projects to creative playgrounds, Riverside Park is cleaner, greener, safer and better because of Riverside Park Fund's supporters. Help turn your christmas tree into mulch! Bring your tree to one of the following designated Riverside Park locations between December 26 – January 10 to be recycled into mulch:

Drop off locations (on the Park side of the street):
West 79th Street and Riverside Drive
West 97th Street and Riverside Drive
West 106th Street and Riverside Drive
West 116th Street and Riverside Drive
West 138th Street and Riverside Drive

The mulch will nourish the plantings in the Park through the winter and help them to flourish in the spring. Please remember to remove all lights and ornaments before bringing your tree to the Park.
The Bird Sanctuary is designated as an official NYC Parks & Recreation Forever Wild site. This designation provides a layer of protection to areas that are already being managed as natural sites instead of maintained landscapes. Birdwalks led by Riverside Park Fund Grassroots Volunteers take place during spring and fall migrations; there is also our volunteer-led annual Christmas Count in December.
